Radlands is a stellar representative of card games, available in three versions: Standard, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe. Although the gameplay remains identical across these versions, the experience is remarkably different.
Standard Version
The standard version includes a basic setup with a two-piece box, paper cards, and punchboard scoring tokens. Despite the simplicity, the game's well-crafted design and printing ensure an immersive gameplay experience.
Deluxe Version
The deluxe version takes the experience to the next level by upgrading to a custom-shaped magnetic flip box, plastic cards, and acrylic tokens. Each component is meticulously upgraded to deliver a premium gaming experience.
Custom-Shaped Magnetic Flip Box: The slanted edge of the flip box design presents unique challenges in production. The edges are hand-wrapped, requiring precise manual alignment to maintain the artwork's continuity. To achieve consistency, positioning marks are added to the back of each paper surface to guide the manual wrapping process, ensuring that every box meets quality standards.
Inside, the design divides the space into four compartments using folded bookbinding board to store the rulebook, two decks of plastic cards, and acrylic tokens. The formation of these spaces is a purely manual process, which demands precision in alignment and gluing, with ongoing adjustments during production to achieve the ideal assembly.
The notch for opening the box is also designed at an unusual angle, and due to the irregular shape, it requires a combination of machine and manual operations. Straight edges are machine-formed, while the angled portions undergo specialized manual processing.
Plastic Cards: The PVC plastic cards are 100% waterproof with a high hardness, offering both smooth handling and a fine tactile feel due to the double-sided matte finish. Unlike paper cards, plastic cards present challenges in color consistency and eliminating color specks during printing. To ensure flawless results, we increased both the initial machine calibration time and the reserve stock by 10%.
Acrylic Tokens: The acrylic tokens are made using an injection molding process followed by rough polishing, two rounds of oil application, and final polishing. We use 100% new acrylic material, even for the black tokens, to ensure optimal surface gloss. Due to the complexity of the oil application, which becomes more difficult as the surface area increases, we apply oil twice to achieve uniform coverage. Every polished token undergoes hand selection to ensure it meets our quality standards.
Super Deluxe Version
Building on the Deluxe version, the Super Deluxe version includes a custom thermoformed tray for storage and a playmate for gameplay.
The thermoformed tray is made of fluorescent red material, designed for efficient storage and easy access to components. The playmate is made with high-saturation heat transfer printing for crisp, high-definition images, ensuring every text detail is sharp and easy to read. Using high-precision printers, we ensure that every fine detail is perfectly rendered.
