The Shocking Revelation of a 3D World in Dungeon & Town

Release Time: 2022.06.07     Clicks: 1829

When talking about RPG board games, I believe most people will think of character cards, miniatures, various cards and tokens, and the entire map. But for maps, it is undoubtedly that there are all flat graphics. Especially in some famous customize board game, there are colorful ink paintings embellished, or various realistic scenes. Between the square and the circle of the table, we mainly focus on thinking about how to play this game. Different from these, Dungeon & Town, as a set of exquisite map expansion, creates a different tabletop world for players. You can see, what it presents to us is a whole three-dimensional world, whether it is walls, roads, houses or trees standing on the ground. Especially through the delicate patterns, a realistic dungeon world is more clearly displayed. This series of roofs and walls with different sizes were hand-painted by Italian artist Andrea Alemanno. And in order to express the gist of fantasy world, the entire tones are displayed in different grayscale colors, and these gray-based muted colors can well represent the past-style scenes. Also in the character pack are four miniatures sculpted from Italian artist Claudio Casini and 173 hand-drawn pawns from Elisa Serio and Manuele Brandani. Again, they are all unpainted and in shades of grey, echoing the pattern of the building as a whole to keep the tone of the scene intact and consistent with the theme.

As you can see from kickstarter, for a three-dimensional board game expansion, Dungeon & Town also has many requirements for production. Eastar is honored to have successfully completed the production of this game. On the one hand, all Dungeon & Town sections are easy to install and use. Because the board game components of the 3D models need to be split and stored, we have to take into account the looseness caused by repeated use and the tightness required to meet the stability, which requires that the connection between each part can have a high degree of fit. Therefore, all connection gaps between all stands should be exactly the same thickness as the cardboard to be connected. There are two kinds of stands to maintain the standing state of all characters and buildings. One is simple stands, which are suitable for individual doors as well as two-dimensional character cards; the other is cross stands, which are used for walls and accessories. On the other hand, the standard for making board games pieces is very high. All cardboard items in Dungeon & Town have chosen double plastic lamination, and have high requirements for card game printing. This ensures that free and repeated writing can be achieved between all sections, which facilitates marking during the game. And the thickness of 2mm cardboard is selected to ensure its durability and bending resistance. In addition, the stands use rounded edges to protect the user from being scratched.

Here, Eastar would like to thank designers Giuliano and Mario from Game Start for their comments, and it is an honor to be praised by them as "the world creator". We will continue to work hard in the field of board game manufacturing and become a better board game maker. We also believe that in future cooperation, we can create more brilliance together!
