Simple Guidance For You In Frostpunk

Release Time: 2022.02.09     Clicks: 1626

More than two years after its release, the frosty city-building game Frostpunk continues. Just like the town it depicts, the game is constantly being updated and even a console version. It has had a board game adaptation!

It is not easy to survive the cold and approaching fear of freezing, but fortunately, nothing has been lost. With smart planning, useful use of scarce resources, and a few visions, you can get through in any case. Here you'll find a collection of tips and tricks that make the basic form of the game easy.

At first, you only have a few buildings available, and some of them are very inefficient. That's why you need to set up your workshop as soon as possible. It provides opportunities for tech trees and different upgrades. However, it is also crucial to satisfy your population at an early stage, so you should also start pulling resources from primary sources as soon as possible. The basic resources you can allocate to workers will run out very quickly.

It is also crucial that you be able to leave the premises of your city. For this you need special technology and have to build beacons. It will allow you to create a reconnaissance team that will be able to explore new locations outside your city. This will provide you with additional resources and new settlers.

When you first reach the icy crater, your poor townspeople can pick up some resources: piles of coal, old wooden crates, and scrap steel. These collectible resources are easy to harvest, but don't last long, so be prepared to research structures such as the sawmill to chop down frozen trees and mine ore and coal within days of your arrival. Even some of these resources won't last: Frozen forests will eventually run out. This means you need to close the sawmill and unlock the next level of technology: drills dig through the walls of the crater to get buried wood. With good planning and preparation, even if you don't build your inventory within a few hours, it can be annihilation.

You'll need a lot of wood to build and research new technologies, but at critical times, you can use it to produce charcoal, which can increase your coal heating. You should always have an ample supply of lumber for quick construction, but at a critical moment it can help increase coal production for a few days if you have excess lumber. Remember to shut down the kiln or move the workers to other buildings to avoid burning all supplies.

The disease is a major blow to a city that is running smoothly. Not only do people who get sick miss work and leave your industrial workforce understaffed, but they need to be treated by workers who may be doing other jobs on their own. To avoid a double blow to productivity, make sure their tents or houses are within range of the steam tower. Warmth is health.

Scouting is so important that scouts can provide you with discoveries and resources. Once you've set up a beacon, you have to strip five workers to become scouts, then you should start working on how to add a second scout. Adding five workers to your workforce isn't easy, but it pays off in the end. When you have time, research improved sleds to speed up your scout's travel time. When they arrive at a new destination, explore it and move them elsewhere. There's a lot to look for out there, so the more groups you're looking for, the faster they travel the better.

There was a time when your city couldn't imagine much other than dead bodies and snow. But some technological advances and some productive reconnaissance missions could end up yielding a lot of surplus resources. If you see your resource table is full (red) and scouts are returning more resources, make sure you have a resource depot and the resource type assigned to it. Otherwise, you will lose anything inappropriate.
