Master The Features Of Nemesis Lockdown And Be Successful

Release Time: 2021.11.15     Clicks: 5061

Backgrounds

Nemesis Lockdown is a standalone expansion to the hit Board Game Nemesis (BGG rank overall #33, thematic #10). It builds on what Nemesis is known for for its intense cinematic experience, adding more opportunities for emergent, dramatic gameplay.

You will become an unlikely survivor, locked in an underground base with something terrifying. Turn up your paranoia, as you try to guess what other players are up to, or what the contingency plan is. Work hard to understand your nemesis' weaknesses 鈥?or run like hell. Switch off the lights in someone's lab section. Take a dangerous trek to the outside bunker. And whatever you do, be ready for the unexpected! The game comes with all the components needed for a cinematic Sci-Fi horror experience and doesn't require the Nemesis Core Box. Nemesis Lockdown offers a 1-5 player semi or full co-op experience that takes around 90-120 minutes and will be different every run! This stand-alone expansion also works with the majority of the previous Nemes. A new story arc begins in this expansion pack for the award-winning board game "NEMESIS" by Fantasy Flight Games. You play one of four survivors who have been trapped in a secret facility after a catastrophic event destroyed their home. Your mission is to escape the facility before it self-destructs.

As you explore the facility, you'll encounter a variety of deadly traps and puzzles that can only be solved by working together. Will you find a way out? Or become another. Each character has a unique skills and special abilities. These skills can be used to help you survive in the facility or hinder your opponents. This expansion pack contains over 40 cards. Some of these include: - Alien Weapons - Trap Cards - Traps - Puzzles - Special Abilities - and more!

Game Features

This time in the plot, players would be trapped in a secret laboratory on Mars. This base has a few floors, and the player can use elevators or stairs to move between floors. Each area has a separate power source and can be cut off at any time. When a power source is cut, the elevators would be turned off, and the corridors will be plunged into deadly darkness. Timely power cuts can delay the alien hunt and of course trap other players. Each floor has its own power configuration, using the power to control the lights to affect the enemy's vision and actions can bring more heart and strategy to the game.

There are also items in the game that will provide light sources, but these do not last and require replenishment. Players can also choose to advance in the dark, but this will make encounters more dangerous and suffer additional disadvantages (such as reduced hit points when shooting, etc.)

New game mechanic - Emergency Response Program, which has a lot of possibilities (e.g. blowing up the base). The wrong options must be removed one by one to find out which command was triggered. It's up to the player to decide if he wants to share his hard-earned information with others.

Nemesis Lockdown is designed with new base facilities, the location of which is randomly assigned during the game. Due to the destruction of alien creatures everywhere, players may experience equipment failures or fires while exploring these facilities. Therefore, the facilities in the base must be repaired as soon as possible to prevent the damage from expanding out of control. In addition, the game has also designed new character-exclusive items, as well as modifiable items, allowing players to build powerful weapons to fight alien creatures.

The game can be played with an App, which is not necessary but enhances the experience with different modes of play, music to set the mood, and single-player support. The App adds depth to single-player games, and with the App, you can play the multiplayer "traitor" mechanic in single-player games, so that players never know if the information revealed by the App is credible.

After watching the demo video for nearly four hours, what I was most impressed with about Nemesis Lockdown was how "realistic" it was. For example, the character will easily be subjected to a variety of small and large injuries, different parts of the injury will have different negative effects, the foot injury when the escape speed becomes slower, the body injury when the number of hand cards is reduced, hand injury when you can not carry heavy objects and so on. The various facilities in the base are also very close to the reality of the movie and the scene, such as the oxygen supply room can deliver oxygen to other rooms, cutting off the oxygen in one room can put out the fire, also, if the room is already on fire, sending more oxygen will cause explode.

"Nemesis Lockdown" uses these realistic settings to create a tense, cinematic gameplay experience. Combined with various events, alien attacks, wound infections and other game mechanics, it creates a high difficulty and a strong sense of space survival despair.

Surviving in the game is very difficult, players can't just hide in a safe place and wait for rescue because there are alien creatures everywhere. Many facilities in the base either fail or catch fire. Players must not only restore the damaged facilities but also put out the fire as soon as possible, otherwise they will suffer greater losses in emergencies such as big explosions.

Another factor that causes difficulties in the game is "luck". in addition to the randomness of the location of the distribution of facilities, whether the facilities are malfunctioning, fire, many mechanisms are also determined by the results of the roll of the dice. There are bad luck equipment damage, bad luck encountering unexpected events, bad luck making noise to attract alien creatures, bad luck being scratched by alien creatures, bad luck wound infection, bad luck ... While "bad luck" makes the game much more difficult, it also allows the audience and players to feel the desperation they should have in surviving in an extremely difficult environment. Although the high difficulty of the game makes it difficult for players to achieve the goal of victory, they can still get satisfaction from the atmosphere and process of the game.

The key that players can master in the game and affect the chance of survival is power. Controlling light, taking elevators, and charging weapons all rely on power. What's more, when players enter a new facility, they roll the dice to see if a noise will be made to attract alien creatures. If these noise markers are placed in a powered facility and the player has left, they can be removed before the aliens move. Therefore, maintaining power and making good use of light and noise settings can greatly improve your chances of survival. Having said that, the overall capacity and power of the base will slowly decrease over time, so players must also be in a race against time.

"Nemesis Lockdown" faithfully restores the plot of movies such as Alien and Survival in Outer Space in the game, with various details that are close to the real settings, creating a great atmosphere for the game. In addition to survival, everyone has different personal goals, because these goals are often in conflict with each other, so the players are full of suspicion and scheming, the player's state of mind is like the protagonist in the movie. The person in front of him is a partner and friend for many years, but does not know you Believe it or not, it also makes conversations and interactions between players more fun.

However, Nemesis Lockdown's fun premise is familiarity with the rules, as the game creates a very realistic space base with many settings and details that are very complex. Frequent checks can ruin the gaming experience and immersion if you are not familiar with the rules. Overall, Nemesis Lockdown is very difficult to play or to get started. If you can overcome the painful period ahead, I believe that players can find a great experience in Nemesis Lockdown, whether they prefer simple cooperation or semi-cooperative mode that pulls each other's legs.

I am also most attratived by the 'realistic' feeling of the game, the game boards and punchboards are very detail foucused.
